Mekong River to Cambodia
We took the bus from Saigon to Phnom Penh, and just before the Cambodian border we crossed the Mekong River.

We reach the border crossing.

The landscape through Cambodia was bleak and obviously much poorer than Vietnam. The lush, green countryside of Vietnam was replaced with a more muted green, and there were fewer trees, most of them having been destroyed during the Pol Pot regime. Simple wood houses were built on stilts because of flooding.

We passed some small, dusty towns along the way.
